Optimum Internet Speeds and Plans

Average download speed: 133.74 Mbps

Average upload speed: 17.61 Mbps

Average latency: 25.74 ms

Total speed tests: 45,423

These are the possible reasons why your Optimum internet connection speed is not as fast as the one advertised on their service. First, the ‘up to’ speeds are what they promise and you rarely get to enjoy these speeds all the time. Interference with other wireless equipments in your home network, the physical distance between you and the network base, old fashioned networks , and the websites you are using ,may differ from the actual speeds you are getting. Optimum does give priority to network traffic so as to allocate adequate bandwidth for a majority of customers; however, many factors help to determine the always-varied speed compared to the marketed peak speed. Connecting to Optimum support since getting help with the internet connection problems is useful to maximize the speed you get.
